About Us
Some evenings your neck is simply done. You have been at a screen since nine, you have driven, you have carried something heavier than you should have, and by the time you sit down the tension has settled somewhere between your shoulder blades where your own hand cannot reach.
That is the whole reason Lindhöl exists.
Where this started
It started at home, with one of these on the sofa. Not a business plan — just a device that someone brought home, plugged in, and then kept reaching for four nights a week. What surprised us was not that it worked. It was how little we thought about it while it did. You strap it on, you carry on reading, and twenty minutes later your shoulders are sitting lower than they were.
So we went looking at what else was out there, and most of it was disappointing. The market is full of cushions that buzz. Vibration sits on the surface of the muscle and tickles it; it does not travel across the tissue the way a pair of hands does. The devices that actually knead are rarer, and the ones that knead and stay put without you holding them are rarer still.
We picked the one we would have wanted to find, put our name on it, and built everything else — the guarantee, the support, the honest instructions — around it.
What the name means
Lindhöl is a made-up word with a real root. In Old Norse and Old High German, lind meant soft, gentle, mild — and it was also the word for the linden tree, whose pale wood was used for shields. In Swedish, the verb lindra still means to soothe, to relieve, to take the edge off pain. The ending is ours. We shaped it to sit alongside the Nordic place names that end in -holm and -dal, because that is where the design comes from: plain shapes, muted colours, nothing shouting.
You will also see us written Lindhol, without the umlaut. Both are us. The umlaut is awkward to type on an American keyboard, so our address is lindhol.com and we answer to either spelling.
What we sell, and what we do not claim
One product, done properly: a cordless massager with two kneading nodes moulded in the shape of a human thumb and a palm, with heat and red light behind them. It straps on for the neck, shoulders, back and waist, and comes off the strap to be held against thighs and calves.
It is a wellness product, not a medical device. It will not fix your posture, it will not cure an injury, and we would rather tell you that here than have you find out after you have paid. What it does is take the tension out of a muscle that has been holding on all day — reliably, and without you having to book anything or hold anything.
How we work
- We ship from the United States. Orders leave the warehouse within 24 hours on business days and usually arrive in two to five. Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum.
- Thirty days to change your mind. The conditions are set out in full on our Return Policy page, in plain language, including the parts that are inconvenient for us.
- If it turns up faulty, that is on us. Tell us within the first 30 days, with a photo or a short video, and we replace it or refund you in full — and we pay the shipping both ways.
- A person answers the email. Not a bot and not a ticket queue. Monday to Friday, usually within a day.
Talk to us
If something is wrong, or if you are not sure whether this is right for you, write to support@lindhol.com and ask. We would rather talk you out of a purchase than take your money for something that will not help.
